The flight there will be a bit of a drag, especially for me, who’s unable to sleep on planes. It’s not the worst I’ve done, though. That was a bit over five years ago, flying from Honolulu, HI to Vienna, Austria. Two conscutive nights on planes. Not much fun, but I survived, so I should be fine this time around, too.
The flight home is perfect, though. The ship docks at 7:00am, the flight leaves four hours later. By 7:00pm we’re back home (yeah, there are four hours of time difference between the Caribbean and the West Coast, so it does take longer than twelve hours from the time we dock).
Getting excited! It’s less than two months now till we leave.

That sounds really familiar to my departure/arrival times for my flights YVR-MIA except I connected through Toronto.
I found that on the way down I didn’t manage to sleep on the overnight leg, but I did get some fitful rest in on the morning/afternoon bit. A nap once I got to Miami from 2:00pm-3:00pm local time was all I needed to re-set and was perfectly happy to sleep that night at 11pm. From then on I was ready to go on Carribean time with little problem.
Coming home though, Oy. It took at least four days before I felt back to normal on PST!

Thanks, Jen. Sounds like a good plan about the afternoon nappie.
I’m not really worried about the trip back. We get a regular night’s sleep, then we fly home. By the time actually walk in the door, it’s time to go to bed anyways.
And it’s a long weekend.
BTW, I am used to being screwed up by nine hours of time difference. Four’s just boring. lol
